You may have heard that Vancouver lacks a fashion scene. I’m here to prove you wrong.

I originally founded Fairfax is Dead in Los Angeles as a nostalgia project, investigating the declining state of my hometown and the once-iconic Fairfax District. What began as a personal blog quickly evolved into a local art show featuring 20 LA-based artists at a long-standing gallery on Fairfax Ave in December 2024.

Now based in Vancouver, I’ve renewed Fairfax is Dead as a culture blog and event organization company dedicated 100% to this city. I want to challenge the notion that there’s no fashion scene here, starting with the launch of The Vancouver Project, the city’s first ever community-driven design competition and runway showcase on August 30th, 2026.
