Fairfax is Dead was founded in Los Angeles by multidisciplinary creative, Sid Faze, as a nostalgia project exploring the shifting identity of the city’s once-iconic Fairfax District. Once the heart of streetwear and creative individuality, the area’s decline has become both subject and symbol—the name has since evolved into a broader statement on cultural change and creative resilience in the modern era.

What began as a personal blog quickly evolved into a collective, culminating in an art show featuring 20 LA-based artists at a long-standing gallery on Fairfax Ave in December 2024.

Now based in Vancouver, Sid has reimagined Fairfax is Dead as a culture blog and TikTok channel spotlighting local artists, designers, and events in the Canadian city. The platform challenges the notion that Vancouver lacks creative depth—offering a fresh lens on the city’s growing artistic community.

Fairfax is Dead is THE go-to source for Vancouver’s thriving creative underground.
