THE VANCOUVER PROJECT - TICKETS ARE NOW LIVE!

If you think “Vancouver doesn’t care about fashion…” we’re here to prove you wrong. On Sunday August 30th, I’m partnering with Rendezvous Social to bring you The Vancouver Project, an exciting new fashion design competition and runway showcase with some of the most talented designers in the city. Similar to Project Runway, there will be judges, a theme, and a grand prize package donated by generous local sponsors, including Pyrrha, Tality, Tacofino, JayBird, Mine & Yours, and more.

This will all be happening at JCI Institute’s new campus on Robson St Downtown. Since the late 70s, JCI has been shaping the next generation of fashion, makeup, hair and esthetics professionals through hands on industry-driven education. We’re honored that they reached out to us to be a part of this exciting (project). And speaking of industry, you can expect journalists, agents, photographers, models, and more to be on-site, helping to cultivate an incredible networking experience for all that attend.

By connecting emerging designers and fashion enthusiasts with industry professionals, we can fuel a stronger creative economy that encourages artists to grow their careers in Vancouver instead of flocking to other major cities. Instead of making excuses and accepting a lack of creative opportunities in this city, take this as a sign to be the change you wish to see. We have a growing market of young, hungry, talented, creatives looking for experiences to connect with others and platform their work.

So let’s do it. And if you’re unable to attend, don’t fret because we’re hoping that this launches a series of creative events to come. The better traction we get, the better chance we have of making that happen.
