SF: What's your name, and where are you from?
JJ: I'm Jugal Joshi, an Indian designer based in Vancouver. My work exists at the intersection of couture craftsmanship and contemporary design, where heritage is reinterpreted through a modern lens.
SF: Can you tell us about your journey into fashion?
JJ: My journey into fashion began with a fascination for craftsmanship rather than trends. I have always been captivated by the precision, discipline, and artistry of couture—the countless hours and refined techniques that transform fabric into something emotionally resonant. Over time, that fascination evolved into a design practice centered on storytelling, where every collection explores identity, culture, and emotion through meticulous construction and hand-finished detail.
SF: How would you describe your design aesthetic?
JJ: I create modern couture with a sculptural sensibility. My work is defined by refined silhouettes, intricate embellishment, and a quiet sense of drama.
